Perry County Shared Online Catalog Project

There are currently four independent state-aided public libraries in Perry County that receive local community support.
At this time, the libraries have separate catalogs. Catalogs at Bloomfield and Newport can be searched remotely, but do not allow for easy online request of items. Catalogs at Marysville-Rye and Community Library of Western Perry County can be searched by visiting the library location.

Coming Soon: An exciting project that will promote increased technology literacy and enhance the ability of Perry County public libraries to share resources more effectively is underway and on track to be ready for library and customer use by the end of summer 2011.
When this project is complete, the items owned by all public libraries in Perry County will be available to search and request online in one catalog. The libraries have agreed to work together, with the cooperation of the Capital Area Library District, to increase their organizational effectiveness and better serve the community by consolidating holdings and catalog records onto a shared technology platform.

Thanks to the Verizon Foundation for providing $12,500 in grant funding for equipment and specialized development work needed to deploy an open source Integrated Library System software product.
