Your Guide to Free Tax Prep Services
January 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Tax time can be stressful.
For decades, libraries have been the central location for taxpayers searching for IRS forms during tax season. Although these forms are now mainly available online and more than 80% of tax returns are filed electronically, taxpayers continue to look to libraries for answers and information regarding their taxes.
Join us Friday, January 18 at 1 p.m. ET for a free webinar to learn about free tax services and resources to share with your patrons to help them file their annual returns.
The nonprofit Computer and Communications Industry Association and the nonprofit Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation (IFFF) have created Tax Time Allies (www.taxtimeallies.org) as a way for community organizations, elected officials, and taxpayers to easily find the many free resources and services to help make their hard-earned refunds go further.
Tax Time Allies is a dedicated group of national and local community organizations and agencies working together to help low- to moderate-income individuals and families get their taxes done right at no cost, with IRS-sponsored programs like Free File, VITA, and AARP Tax-Aide to help maximize the impact of their refunds.
In this 60-minute webinar, you will learn more about these free IRS-sponsored tax prep services that are available in person and online. You will also gain access to tools and resources available from Tax Time Allies to make it easy to provide information to patrons and the larger community. The webinar will also offer a brief demonstration on the IRS Free File program (www.irs.gov/freefile).
