			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana">Due to the high numbers of school and library personnel new to the <strong>E-rate program</strong>, there will be three in-person, full-day training workshops held for beginners.</font></p>
<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana">The morning of each training will contain details of program rules, eligibility issues, discount calculations, and each step of the program.</font></p>
<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana"><strong>In the afternoon, there will be live, online E-rate Forms training and attendees should bring their wireless-enabled laptops to complete the forms during the training. </strong><br />
<strong>NOTE:</strong> Please, only bring one laptop per institution as each training location has a maximum number of laptops that can be enabled simultaneously.</font></p>
<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana">Check-in will begin at <strong>8:30am</strong>, with the workshop running from <strong>9:00am &#8211; 4:00pm</strong>.  Lunch will be provided. Also, each attendee will receive a comprehensive <strong>3-inch E-rate Binder</strong> that contains copies of the PowerPoint presentation, fact sheets, forms, sample letters, tips, etc.</font></p>

<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana"><strong>Seating is limited.</strong></font></p>
<p><font color="#15317e" face="verdana">There is <strong>no fee</strong> to attend any workshops, but you <strong>will be charged $50 if you do not show up</strong> in order to cover costs (<strong>fee will be waived </strong>if you cancel <strong>at least 48 hours </strong>prior to the class).</font></p>

<p><font color="#800517" face="verdana">To help raise the conservation IQ of museums, libraries, and archives, the <strong>Institute of Museum and Library Services</strong> (IMLS), in cooperation with the <strong>American Association of State and Local History</strong> (AASLH), is offering 2000 free copies of the Connecting to Collections Bookshelf, a core set of books, DVDs, online resources, and an annotated bibliography that are essential for the care of collections.</font></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font color="#660033" face="verdana">It&#8217;s that time again &#8212; to think about planning to submit an application to receive a <strong>Marketing for Lifelong Learning Award </strong>next year.</font></p>
<p><font color="#660033" face="verdana">The four documents you will need to have handy when you apply <strong>next May</strong> are available below. In the meantime, consider marketing your library as the place for lifelong learning. The award is based upon your marketing activities from <strong>September 2007 through April 2008.</strong></font></p>
<p><font color="#660033" face="verdana">If you are attending the PaLA Conference in October, you might want to attend the<strong> Sunday, October 14, 2:00 PM </strong>program presented by this year&#8217;s Marketing for Lifelong Learning Award winners. The presenters will have much to share about how their library won this special award.</font></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font face="verdana" color="#7E3117">The Cumberland County Library System will be having a tour of their libraries on <strong>Thursday, October 18, 2007</strong>.  This tour is available to all <strong>Library Trustee Members</strong>.</font></p>
<p><font face="verdana" color="#7E3117">Visit Cumberland County’s Camp Hill, Enola, New Cumberland and Mechanicsburg libraries.  See firsthand how each of these communities is growing, and the impact this growth has on countywide library service.</font></p>
<p><font face="verdana" color="#7E3117">The tour will pick-up individuals from the western part of the county at <strong>Bosler Library </strong>at <strong>8:15 AM</strong>, and then continue on to <strong>Fredricksen</strong> where the tour will begin at <strong>9:00 AM</strong>. The tour should return to Fredricksen by 1:30 PM and Carlisle by 2:00 PM.</font></p>
<p><font face="verdana" color="#7E3117">A free box lunch will be provided.</font></p>
