<p>Following a competitive application process, 30 public libraries will be selected to receive:</p>
<ul>
<li>A grant of $2,500, to be used to support program costs and scholar honoraria.</li>
<li>Program materials, which include introductory literature and essays on each of the themes, selections for additional reading and template promotional materials.</li>
<li>Training for the library project director at a national workshop, where they will hear from the project scholar, expert librarians and organizers and receive a program planning guide, materials and ideas.</li>
</ul>

<p>The speakers are <strong>Katherine Ayres</strong>, author of <em>Up, Down, and Around</em>, this year’s One Book, Every Young Child selection.  Also <strong>Dr. Susan B. Neuman</strong>, Professor in Education Studies specializing in early literacy development at the University of Michigan.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>Lehigh Valley Story Festiva</strong>l will be held <strong>March 28 &#8211; April 6, 2008</strong> with guests <strong>Fran Yardley</strong> and <strong>Odds Bodkin</strong>.</p>

<p>Teachers, librarians and storytellers are encouraged to attend Odds Bodkin&#8217;s workshop, <a href="http://www.geocities.com/lvstorytellers/LVSF_workshop_2008_pdf.pdf">The Door To Imagination: How To Awaken Your Inner Storyteller</a>, on Friday April 4 from 9:00 to 4:00 PM.  An hour and a half lunch break will be taken, however lunch will not be provided.</p>
<p>Act 48 credits (5) are available for this workshop.  Northampton Community College is reporting these credits and the workshop should be on CPE Tracker.</p>
<p><strong>Fee</strong> for this workshop is <strong>$50</strong>.<br />
