Access PA Fall 2008 Training Schedule & Registration (link on left)

The Access PA Fall 2008 live training sessions will consist of 3 all-day Beginner sessions and 21 all-day Refresher sessions, with continental breakfast and lunch provided, free of charge. Sign-in will begin at 8:15am, with all sessions beginning promptly at 9am and ending at 3pm.

It is recommended that librarians and support staff that have never received formal training attend a Beginner session which will cover Access Pennsylvania Database systems, and a complete overview of the new WebFeat Statewide Federated Search Engine.

The Refresher sessions are for experienced users and will include an update of Access Pennsylvania Database systems in the morning and a complete overview of the new WebFeat Statewide Federated Search Engine, along with POWER Library database updates, in the afternoon. You must attend both the morning and afternoon parts of the Refresher training session.

Those attending either a full-day Beginner or full-day Refresher session will be eligible to receive Act 48 credit. You must attend for the full day in either case to receive any Act 48 credit (i.e. there is no credit for partial attendance, and you may not share attendance with another staff member.)

Once you have decided on a session, click on the links labeled Click Here for Training Registration. To help guide you through the process, we ask that you make sure to read the instructions provided at the top of each step of the registration process. Those eligible for Act 48 credits MUST enter your Act 48 Professional Personnel ID (PPID) number when processing your registration.

Keep in mind that the deadline for registering is one week before the scheduled class, however space is limited and seats will be filled on a first come basis.

To help answer your questions, visit the Training Registration FAQ or contact Access PA Support.

  1. Carolyn Blatchley Says:

October 17 is the date for the Beginner Session.

There is a Refresher Session on October 16 which is not currently posted on the District website.

Register at the AccessPA website - there are approximately 30 seats left in the refresher session; lots of space for beginners.
