Training Date: August 27, 2008

The kick-off event for One book will be held Wednesday, August 27 starting at 4:00 PM at the Pequea Valley Public Library in Intercourse PA.

For those of you who are contemplating building projects, you may want to make the road trip. Pequea is a new, small library (it went from 900 square feet to about 4000), and was built using green design principles. It is the library with the outdoor lockboxes.

We’ll be carpooling, so let me know if you are tentatively interested in going.

Keystone Report and Reimbursement Workshop

Training Date: June 26, 2008

Keystone Report and Reimbursement Workshop
June 26 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Learn how to complete the report forms and request reimbursement for your Keystone project.

The workshop will be held in Room 321 of the Forum Building in Harrisburg. View a Map of Downtown Harrisburg, showing the location of the Forum building. On the map, the Forum is located to the right above the circled #4.

This will be the first time we are offering this FREE workshop.
Attendance is not required.
Light refreshments will be served.

The workshop is directed to those who will be completing the report and for those responsible for the review of the report-municipal contacts, library directors and District Consultants are invited. Consultants do not need to have a current Keystone project in their District in order to join us; however, since the report has changed from earlier years, this workshop will be for municipalities and library directors awarded Keystone grants in 2007.

This will be a hands-on workshop. Using sample invoices (and sample prior match invoices), we will complete a regular Quarterly. We will also complete a Quarterly to request reimbursement and a Final Report. If you wish, you may also work on your actual upcoming Quarterly. If you have not received your fully executed contract yet, you may still work on Column A of your ‘eventual’ Quarterly if you wish. Two and one-half hours may not be needed for the session; alternately, I am able to stay later if needed.

This year we have provided more explanation to the reports and hope that some past problems will be resolved. You can see the reports on the website at: State Library. Note the difference between the reports for grants awarded 2007 and later and those for 2006 and earlier.

The reports are not that complex; however, each quarter we continue to see problems in their completion. The Commonwealth takes the reporting obligation seriously. Reimbursement is delayed when reports must be resubmitted. In addition, failure to complete timely reports may jeopardize future grants.

The workshop is voluntary and I am always available to help with reports over the phone or by email if you would prefer not to attend.

Please let me know by June 20th if you will be attending.
