Reference Librarian: East Shore Area Library

Location: Harrisburg 17109

Position: Reference Librarian

Responsibilities: Performs reference work, including answering reference questions, assisting the public with research and information needs, and helping the public use the library catalog, LAN, and Internet resources. Assists in the creation and maintenance of files, databases, WebPages, and other tools that package information for ease of access and use by the public and other staff. Assists with training of other staff and the public in the use of reference resources.

Requirements: MLS degree as recognized by the Office of Commonwealth Library. Experience in use of online resources. One year experience in dealing with the public is preferred. PA driver’s license, ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, to place materials on high and low shelves.

Hours: Usually Monday through Friday, 9:30am - 5:00pm, each week this position will be required to work a closing shift and once a month work a weekend.

Salary: $30,000
