Public Relations Librarian: Peckville

Valley Community Library seeks a Public Relations/Adult Services Librarian. The successful applicant will develop programs and publicity to promote the library to the community; provide reference and reader’s advisory services to adults; participate in collection development; and provide training to staff and public in selected areas of adult services. Includes some supervision of staff. This is a full-time, entry level poistion with an excellent benefits package.

Requirements include a Master’s Degree in the field of Library Science from an ALA accredited Library Program or equivalent Pennsylvania state certification as a Professional Librarian, the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, internet, online databases and print reference sources.

The Public Relations/Adult Services Librarian is responsible to the Library Director for the development of a Public Relations program, Reference and Reader’s Advisory service to patrons.

A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK AND A PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE ARE REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
