The ideal candidate needs to be customer service-oriented team player who will skillfully maintain a harmonious relationship with diverse customers and staff.  The ability to excel in a changing environment and extensive knowledge of children&#8217;s literature, programming, emergent literacy and technical skills are also desired qualities.  This is a person with a vision for the future of library services to children and teens, and the energy to bring that vision to reality.</p>
<p>Duties include planning, scheduling and presenting programs for children, teens, parents and families, providing outreach to schools and other agencies in the community, training and managing staff and volunteers, participation in all library programs, fundraising and events, providing reference and readers&#8217; advisory services, and collection development.  </p>
<p>Qualifications include a MLS from an ALA accredited school, 2-4 years library experience, including supervisory.  This is a 40 hour work week with some nights and weekends. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Village Library of Morgantown is seeking an energetic, self-starting Library Director.  The Village Library is a busy, growing library and a member of the Berks County Public Library System.  The library is the central community gathering place, providing materials and programs for all ages.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a small public library, to create and inplement literacy programs.  The position requires administrative abilities, working knowledge of library procedures, excellent customer service and computer skills, experience and enthusiasm working with children and adults.  A Pennsylvania Public Librarian Provisional Certification is required.  Postgraduate work in Library Science or an MLS degree is highly desired.  </p>
<p>The position schedule is 35 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.  Salary range is $15.50 &#8211; $16.50 per hours.  Benefits include two weeks paid vacation, paid holidays &#038; training and flexible scheduling.</p>

Andrea Miller, chair of the Library Science Department of Clarion University has said that if Clarion University is selected as the school of choice for students, it is necessary to start the application process immediately.  If the student is selected into the graduate program and to receive a grant, this process will be in place as classes start in January.  Applying and being accepted by Clarion does not automatically qualify students for this grant.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Haverford Township Free Library (HTFL) seeks a dynamic and energetic Director who understands that the new paradigm for a 21st century library demands an institution that promotes community learning, connections, and communication.  As one of the largest libraries in Delaware County, PA, the HTFL serves as one of the six Area Resource Centers for the Delaware County Library System.  Haverford Township is located in Delaware County, PA, off Interstate 476 and close to downtown Philadephia. </p>
<p>The Director must work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees and the Township Commissioners.  The Director also communicates regularly with the leaders of civic organizations, the school board, and other groups to promote and support the library and its role in the community.  The Director manages a $1.2 million budget and oversees and directs the library staff to serve the customers and community by maintaining current services and programs and developing new innovative services and programs.  The Director also works with the Friends of HTFL, who raise money to support the library.</p>
<p>Candidates must have a MLS from an ALA accredited university, be eligible for certification as a professional librarian in Pennsylvania, and at least 4 years of progressively increasing experience supervising staff.  Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience applying for and receiving grants, and experience starting and growing a capital campaign.</p>
