The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a small public library, to create and inplement literacy programs. The Director must work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees and the Township Commissioners. The Director also communicates regularly with the leaders of civic organizations, the school board, and other groups to promote and support the library and its role in the community. The Director manages a $1.2 million budget and oversees and directs the library staff to serve the customers and community by maintaining current services and programs and developing new innovative services and programs. The Director also works with the Friends of HTFL, who raise money to support the library.

Candidates must have a MLS from an ALA accredited university, be eligible for certification as a professional librarian in Pennsylvania, and at least 4 years of progressively increasing experience supervising staff. Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience applying for and receiving grants, and experience starting and growing a capital campaign.
