2010 LSTA Application Workshop: Harrisburg

Training Date: June 18, 2009

The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) electronic applications for 2010 projects are open. You can find them on the PDE website atwww.pde.state.pa.us. There is a link to eGrants in the left margin. The guidelines for the applications are on the LSTA web page atview.asp?a=5&Q=40316 . These guidelines provide instructions for getting into the applications as well as the priorities, questions and evaluation criteria for each one of the applications.

The eGrant system will default to the 2009-2010 Program Year, but you must highlight the 2010-2011 Program Year in black.

A workshop to introduce these applications has already been conducted in the Pittsburgh area. One will also be held in Harrisburg on June 18. A form to register for one of these is attachedworkshopregistration1.
A webinar version of the workshop will be broadcast on June 11. To register for that, go to pdewebinars.org

Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on September 11, 2009.

The Parkland Community Library, a service-oriented library serving 56,000 people
and embarking on a building project, is seeking a knowledgeable, self-motivated
reference librarian who is comfortable with technology to provide excellent
reference services, and to be part of the exciting building project.

The library is well used, and offers a strong schedule of programs. See the

and non-fiction collections, management of three part-time reference staff, and

New Cumberland Library Booksale

Bosler Library Book Sale

The Friends of Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle officially opened their used book store “The Bookery” in April 1998. The 750 square-foot addition to the rear of the Bosler Library was paid for by proceeds from the Friends’ Annual Auctions.

Bookery operating hours are:

Tuesday – 10:00am-2:00pm
Thursday- 10:00am-2:00pm
5:00pm-7:00pm
Saturday- 10:00am-2:00pm
