Youth Services Librarian: Butler

The Butler Area Public Library is seeking a dynamic, creative, innovative Youth Services Librarian who is dedicated to enriching the lives of children, young adults and their families. Located in the heart of the city of Butler, the library serves as the resource library for the Butler County Federated Library System.

Primary responsibilities include:

·Planning and implementing programs for children and young adults
·Selection and collection development for all children’s and young adult materials
·Acts as library liaison for community organizations and schools
·Supervises department staff and volunteers
·Provides readers advisory and reference services to patrons of the young adult and children’s
departments

Requirements:

·Strong knowledge of children’s and young adult literature
·Experience working with planning and presenting children’s programs
·Proficient computer skills
·Excellent customer service skills
·Act 33/34 Clearances
·MLS required

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary based on experience. Benefits package includes health, dental and vision care, paid vacation and sick days, 11 recognized holidays, and participation in retirement program.
