HSLC/Access PA is pleased to announce the first Ask Here PA online
training course titled Understanding and Promoting Ask Here PA.

Registration for the course opens on Monday, August 3, 2009 and is
limited to the first 20 students. The Understanding and Promoting Ask
Here PA online course begins on Monday, August 17, 2009 and continues for two weeks through Sunday, August 30, 2009 and is offered free of charge.

The course is designed for librarians and teachers in all schools and
educational institutions in PA. School librarians are asked to share
this opportunity with their classroom teachers. The Ask Here PA online
course consists of two units. Unit 1 will focus on understanding how Ask Here PA works and Unit 2 will focus on using, evaluating and promoting Ask Here PA.

The course runs for two weeks and certified Pennsylvania
school librarians and teachers will be eligible to earn 3 Act 48 credit
hours for taking the course.

The course uses the eCollege course management service which is hosted by eCollege. Students will be able to access the course from any computer connected to the Internet to work independently any time of day or night. The instructor, Vince Mariner, will monitor the course and be available to students during normal business hours and via email.

To register for the Ask Here PA Online Training Course, go to the AccessPA Learning Center at www.accesspalearn.org beginning Monday morning, August 3, 2009, and click on the Registration link located along the top of the website. It is NOT necessary to enter a User ID and password to begin the Registration process. On Step 2 of 7, make sure to select Ask Here PA Summer 2009 to register for the Ask Here PA online course that begins on Monday, August 17, 2009. To submit your registration, make sure to follow the directions carefully on Step 7 of 7.
