Library Director Position: Lewisburg

The Public Library for Union County is seeking an innovative, community services minded, collaborative leader. The vision of the Public Library for Union County is to “be a vital community resource that serves as a gateway to an expanding world of knowledge”. In 2008 the library opened its expanded and renovated state-of-the-art building. With a service population of 36,316 in 2009 the library circulated 305,000 items, had an operating budget of $600,000, and staff of 15 FTE. The library also serves as the headquarters for the Union County Library System, a federated library system with three member libraries.
The Public Library for Union County, located in beautiful Victorian Lewisburg, PA on the scenic Susquehanna River is also home to Bucknell University. The library receives generous support through a Union County tax millage, active fund development activities within the business and private sectors, and has an established endowment fund of $2 million.

The next director will have the skills and abilities to guide future driven library services while maintaining a welcoming community minded environment.
