Library Director: Lehigh County

Parkland Community Library, a private, non-profit community agency located in Lehigh County, PA, seeks an experienced Library Director. The Parkland Community Library serves three townships with a population over 50,000, operates 58 hours per week, offers over 70,000 items with a circulation of about 300,000 items/year. The Library Director will lead all day to day operations and report directly to the Board of Directors. The Library Director will also serve as a key external representative to the community.
The successful candidate will:
*Have 10 or more years of successful library operations experience and 5 or more years of supervisory experience
*Hold a Master’s degree in Library Science
*Meet PA Commonwealth requirements for a Library Director
*Be able to work collaboratively with multiple community constituencies including the school district and other non-profits
*Have experience in fund raising.
*Be a leader with enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude
*Possess management skills- including fiscal administration, time management and communications skills
*Have the ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors, patrons, Friends of the library, and the many other members of the Parkland community; and demonstrate commitment to working with volunteers.
