OverDrive AudioBooks

OverDrive is a service that allows your patrons to download audiobook files to a computer for transfer to an mp3 player. The collection is designed to be primarily popular fiction and nonfiction materials for all listeners.

The Capital Area Library District provides this resource to all of its member libraries. Member libraries should post a link to the resource on their websites for local access.

Access to this resource begins in December 2008.

Marketing to Patrons:

Bookmarks and posters will soon be available to publicize this resource to your patrons.
We are starting with a soft launch because there are limited titles available.

Training Materials:

Classes will be hosted when the resource first comes available.
Front line staff are not expected to answer detailed questions about the download process, but will want to know how to refer patrons to the FAQs and lessons about how to use the service that are online. Links to Help

A copy of the presentation from the OverDrive training will soon be available here:

Problems and Troubleshooting:

Report problems with access to the resource to Carrie Haverman.

Statistics:

The district will provide access to statistics for this resource quarterly.
