Perry County OverDrive Users:

OverDrive at http://capitalarealibrary.lib.overdrive.com/ is a service that allows patrons to borrow and immediately download licensed audiobooks via their local public library.
This service was purchased through a cooperative agreement between members of the Capital Area Library District.
After the service was purchased, we realized that there was not a proper authentication method that Perry County Libraries could use, so we have developed this method.

Steps in the Process:
-Patron goes to Perry County library and requests access to OverDrive.
-Library verifies patron information and eligibility for the OverDrive card. Any individual who is legally entitled to service at your library or purchases borrowing privileges from your library is eligible to use the OverDrive service.
-Library issues an OverDrive card to the patron by submitting the form with completed information below. Libraries should also locally track in a spreadsheet which patrons have received an OverDrive Card. Only one OverDrive card is allowed per customer.
-Form data is received by DIS staff and entered into the DCLS automation system within 48 hours during weekday operating schedule.
-Library should inform the patron that they can begin using the service online 48 hours after they have received their card. Please inform the patron that their personal data is safely stored on the DCLS automation system in order to allow access to the online service.

Library staff in Perry County are the ONLY people who should submit this form. This form is NOT intended for use by the public.

This data will be entered into DCLS’s Horizon database within 48 hours of receipt. When entered, the patron’s number will be active and ready to use with OverDrive
