FIND SUPPORT

All leadership staff at Dauphin County Library System, especially those on Senior Management Team, are encouraged to be engaged in district questions and initiatives.

DISTRICT LIBRARY CENTER ADMINISTRATOR 

Exec-dir@dcls.org

Attends DLC meetings. Supervises and evaluates the district consultant. Spends regular hours guiding district projects in capacity requested. Offers assistance in building projects and other matters as requested.


FINANCE STAFF

Handle all of the financial accounting for the district budget using local resources. Consult on finance issues as needed. Process regular payroll for all district staff.


HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONALS

Post positions and attend all details of hiring process that affect the district. Consults on HR and volunteer issues. Offers samples and best practices.


COLLECTION MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

Supervises ILL, assists with OverDrive selection and review of titles, and oversees selection of DLC collection. Processes all professional collection materials. Also, many staff in this department have back-up roles for shipping and receiving and take parts of the ILL workflow as demand requires it.


FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT HEAD

Schedules all vehicle service appointments, processes new purchases, and handles vehicle situations that arise.


REFERENCE DEPARTMENT

One of the roles of a District Library Center is to provide advanced reference service and to maintain an enhanced collection of materials available to assist with detailed reference questions.

In addition to serving as a backup for local reference, DCLS also assists the district by hosting a committee that works together to select online resources and negotiate prices for those resources.


YOUTH SERVICES STAFF

As needed, provides leadership and consulting when asked for youth-related issues and distributions. Assists with implementation of youth services at the state level.


INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Provides assistance upon request for the district website and other technology needs of the district consultant.
